About Us
Post-acute wound care focuses on delivering advanced treatment in non-hospital settings - such as patients’ homes, assisted living communities, and nursing facilities. As the fastest-growing area in wound care, it represents both the present and the future of the specialty.
Recognising the urgent need for dedicated education, advocacy, and peer collaboration in this space, the International Post-Acute Wound Society (IPAWS) was established in 2024 to support clinicians working beyond the hospital walls.
Our first summit took place in New Orleans, September 4–6, 2024, uniting forward-thinking professionals committed to shaping the future of post-acute wound care. Following its success, we’re proud to return in 2025 with even more opportunities to learn, connect, and lead.
