The American Professional Wound Care Association® (APWCA) is a non-profit medical association welcoming medical providers from all disciplines involved in prevention and treatment of difficult wounds. Through a synergy of disciplines, APWCA has been a worldwide leader in the prevention and treatment of acute and chronic wounds since 2001.

The Wound and Reconstruction Plastic Surgery Society is a unique society founded by and exclusive to plastic surgeons certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery participating in the field of wound care and reconstruction.

At the Wound and Hyperbaric Association (WHA), our mission is to unify patients, clinicians, healthcare institutions, and industry stakeholders in a shared commitment: to improve access to high-quality, evidence-based wound and hyperbaric care. As a coalition-driven voice, we advocate for reform that advances safety, equity, and value across the continuum of care. We believe that thoughtful, data-informed policy change—at both the state and federal level—can eliminate barriers to healing, protect the sustainability of care delivery, and foster the kind of innovation that leads to better patient outcomes.

The ACHM is a professional society dedicated to appropriate utilization, standards of care, education, training, certification, and recognition of hyperbaric oxygen therapy as a distinct medical specialty. The American College of Hyperbaric Medicine was founded in 1983 in support of clinicians practicing hyperbaric medicine who recognized the importance of therapeutic oxygen in clinical applications, especially wound management.

APWH, the Academy of Physicians in Wound Healing, is the very first physician-oriented organization in wound care that has been created to meet the needs of the physician in three subject areas: clinical and operations-focused education, compensation advocacy, and legislative action on healthcare issues. While nurses have had the benefit of nursing-specific organizations to address the needs of the nursing profession, it is our belief that physicians have been at a disadvantage in this regard. APWH is open to all prescribing physicians (MD, DO and DPM), physician assistants (PA) and nurse practitioners (NP).

The Boswick Burn and Wound Care Symposium is designed for physicians, researchers, investigators, nurses, therapists, dieticians, and others interested in development of techniques, treatments, drugs, and devices in the study and management of wound healing, wound management, burn care, and infection control.
